Musical Children

Ryley had her second violin recital. This time it was a group concert. I couldn't put a video this time, there was just too many squeaky violins playing at one time. It's not good for your ears. It was very cute to watch though. Thanks to the Grandmas and Grandpas who could be there. Ryley appreciated the support!

Jensen recently started taking Cello lessons. (Isn't it weird that there's no "H" in that word?)
It's the cutest thing in the world to watch him play. He loves it so far. Of course it's not all fun and games, but for some reason this has been one of my favorite parts of parenting. I love watching them learn to do new things AND I love that I'm learning to do those new things with them. I can play the same songs as Ryley and I hope to be able to play what Jensen can play too!

We already have plans for Evelyn to learn the Viola... cause that's her middle name. But for now she's having fun learning to ride this cool balance bike thing. She loves it and she's pretty much got it down now and can cruise down the hill. The problem is the thing doesn't have brakes and she's quickly wearing her shoes out. Thanks to my neighbor Autumn for letting us borrow the bike for awhile!

Evelyn's 2nd Birthday

Evelyn got to have 2 birthdays for her 2nd birthday!
Lucky Girl!
One when we were in Utah and one in West Virginia!

Amy made these cute Minnie Mouse cupcakes! Evy loves the fuzzy Minnie Mouse blankey that Grandma Posey made too!

She finally figured out how to get those 2 fingers to poke up.

Good Job Ammon for another beautifully decorated cake. If a science career doesn't work out I'm sure he can get a job in a bakery.

Thanks for the fun presents Grandma and Grandpa Jensen!

Utah Trip

We flew out to Utah for a quick 5 day trip the first week of Feb. My dear Grandma Davis passed away and we were able to be there for her funeral. We miss her.

It was so fun to be able to visit her often in West Virginia. She always had something kind and encouraging to say. The kids loved watching movies with her and she never minded when they picked Mr. Incredible for the 100th time. The kids used to sneak in her room right before dinner because they always knew they could get a candy from Grandma Davis. She was a sweet and beautiful woman.

We were able to reunite with lots of our cousins! Yeah for the Williams!

Look at all those cousins!!

Of course, we had to do some skiing while in Utah. It's a law.

Even Jensen got to go ski on a real mountain! It was a blizzard at Alta and he got pretty cold after a couple of times down, but he did incredible even on the steep parts!

The dinosaur museum was a little scary for Jensen.

Skiing at Wisp

We took advantage of a Monday off of school and came for the deals at Wisp. Mom and Dad joined us (since they live 15 minutes away) and we all had a good time! The kids did great and didn't want to stop.

Here's a Pizza!

Winter Hiking

We've had surprisingly warm weather this winter, so we found some fun trails to explore on the weekends. Ammon and I have discovered trail running. It's so much more fun than neighborhood running. This kids enjoy getting out too, even though they complain about going every time when we're trying to get out the door. Then they whine when it's time to leave!

We did have one close call the other weekend when Jensen got a little too close to the freezing-cold river and fell in. I ended up slipping in up to my chest trying to get him out and affirmed the freezing -cold temperature. It was a frigid walk back to the car. We're just counting our blessings that Jensen learned how to swim well enough to keep his head above water this past summer.

Goofy backwards kids.

Christmas

Our reenactment of the Christmas story. Evelyn is a lamb, if you can't tell. Ryley is Mary, Ammon is Joseph and Jensen refused to participate. I played the part of the angel. It was a spectacular performance.

Christmas morning!

A new baby doll for Evy! She loves babies.

A new scooter for Jensen!

And a mermaid tail for Ryley!

Holy candy cane Evelyn!

Washington D.C. Temple with beautiful Christmas lights! We also got to see Jenny Oaks Baker play the violin. She was amazing.

A quick visit from Grandma and Grandpa Paul.

We went for a visit over to WV to see Grandma and Grandpa Jensen for New Years.

It looks like Jensen is floating away and is going to pull Grandpa up in the sky with him.
